How to Get 3 Music Awards in Less Than a Year
Posted by: The Medullary Paralysis in Awards, Music Contests on January 15th, 2009
We think international music contests are great for unsigned bands. Why? Because you can submit your home-recorded stuff and win an award for your songwriting skills, even if your song doesn’t sound professional.
In less than a year, we have received 3 awards:
- Honorable Mention in the December 2007 round of the Song of the Year competition
- Fashion slave, Semi-Finalist in the Rock/Indie category in the UK Songwriting Contest 2008. Just enter the song title in the search box to see judges score and position.
- Nominated for Best International Alternative Song at the Toronto Exclusive Magazine Awards
So if you are in a band or you are a songwriter, check out the upcoming deadlines for these competitions, you never know.
Things to Do on the First Day of the Year

Today is the best day for nostalgia. The best day to share some souvenirs from 2008, don’t you think? Here is something we are proud of.
- A newspaper article about us. Oh yeah, the Buzz…
- Our FRU passes. FRU stands for Festival delle Radio Universitarie, a national contest organized by Italian university radios in partnership with Telecom Italia and RAI. We were chosen among hundreds of bands by contest judges. Then our fans voted online and helped us to reach the final. We had a great time in Catania, 1300 km away from home. Our performance was broadcast via radio and the web. Thank you FRU!
